Orthodox Christian and National Holidays

If we were to ask the average person on the street what the main Christian festivals were that should be observed - the answer would immediately come back as "Christmas" and "Easter" and yet no-where can either of these festivals be found mentioned in the Bible. When we add to those days events such as "Mothers Day" or other national holidays, we have a confusing array of festivals that we can observe. These studies are designed to provide some of the historical and Biblical background to some of these days contrasted with the Biblically commanded festivals and allow Christians to decide whether it serves their best interest in their personal walk with God which ones to actually make observance of as a key part of their lives.
